He graduated with a Master's Degree in Fine Art and Design from the Design Department, Sandberg Instituut in 2024.
Kaiyu’s practices mostly involve installation, experimental moving images, and publication. His works are concerned with political identities, queer narratives, and post-colonialism, and based on the relationship among mythologies, allegories, and the reality world, he creates works to connect the innumerous gaps among them.
Kaiyu constructs a narrative landscape of the intersecting experiences of being a queer person of color and a minority. Within his poetic narrative space, he gently yet powerfully challenges mainstream perceptions and the unknown, which is concealed by mainstream understanding, and navigates the border between falsehood and truth.
